Açai for you and me.

I LOVE a good açaí bowl, but the price? Nah I'll just make it myself!


Which is my mantra 9/10 times

 

Açai is a powerhouse of antioxidants. Studies have shown that açaí has more antioxidants than blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries! So an Açai Bowl or Smoothie Bowl is such a fun way to get those amazing properties, especially first thing in the morning which is when I like to eat mine. And it tastes even better when breaking a fast.


Am-I right? I do love adding more nutrient dense ingredients to my smoothie bowls too.


~Cacao Nibs - Superfood, fiber, antioxidants and magnesium

~Hemp Hearts (shelled) - Protein and omegas

~Unsweetened Coconut Flakes - Healthy fat, and it just tastes darn good!


~ I love to do my grocery shopping at a few different stores. The majority of my shopping is done at Aldi. Their prices and quality are fantastic! And you can't not love the aisle of randomness. Need a new laundry basket? Barbie doll? Exercise bike? Any-who, I also go to Trader Joes and Wegmans, which is our local grocery store. And of course the random Target and Walmart run. So you will see a variety of different brands in my posts.

So tired yet so hungry... the struggle


 



-1 Packet of Açai puree

- A handful of spinach

-1/4 cup frozen blueberries

-1/2 banana to blend, 1/2 for topping

-Tiny splash of PURE maple syrup (optional)

-1 Splash of unsweetened almond milk (adjust to consistency)

-Hemp hearts

-Unsweetened coconut flakes

-Cacao nibs

-Raspberries


 

1. Run Açai packet under warm water to soften

2. Place Açai, spinach, blueberries, half the banana, splash of almond milk and maple syrup (optional) in a blender or bullet and blend until smooth

3. Pour smoothie mixture into a bowl and top with toppings.

~ Coconut flakes, hemp hearts, cacao nibs, sliced banana, raspberries

4. SCARF THAT SMOOTHIE BOWL!!!!!
